and the Dog says "vov-vov"?! Og hunden siger "woof-woof"? El pero dice "bow-wow"?

We have long ago meant to find a place for this in our blog, but somehow it just kept slipping our minds...until last weekend when we started the animal sound game again.

Vi har lang tid siden gernede finde plads for det her blog, men det har altid vært overset, indtil sidste weekend da vi begyndt og spille det dyr lyd spill sammen.

Tenemos mucho tiempo atrás la intención de encontrar un lugar para esto cosa en nuestro blog, pero de alguna manera simplemente nos pasaba las opportunidad... hasta el fin de semana pasado, cuando comensamos el juego de los sonidos de los animales.


  Last year, shortly after our move, Max's teacher Sanne gave us what was supposed to be a simple assignment to get us going with the language.  It was a list of multiple choice questions that connected animals with their sounds. Little did we know that animals make different sounds here in Denmark.  :)  Of course they do, right?

Sidste år, lige efter vores flytte, Max's lære Sanne har givet Max lekture at hun troede skulle være nemt for os af laver - så vi kunne kom i gang med sproget.  De var en liste af sprøgsmåler vor vi skulle set den rigtig lyd med den korekt dyr.  Vi var alle overrasket at det danske dyr har forskelig lytter end Amerikansk dyr! :) Selvfølelig, hva?

El año pasado, un poco después de nuestro movimiento, la maestra de Max,  Sanne,  nos dio lo que se suponía que era una tarea sencilla de hacer sobre de el idioma. Era una lista de preguntas sobre  los animales y sus sonidos. No sabíamos que los animales hacen sonidos diferentes en los Estados Unidos que aquí en Dinamarca. :) Por supuesto que sí, ¿verdad?

Denmark!

The very first full day after we arrived a bunch of neighborhood kids arrived at our door looking for some fun. Or more likely to check out the new kids. ;)

From left to right:

Within a half an hour or so they were all playing tag. Fortunately some things require no language skill, and some games are universal! Having a step-brother who could bridge the gap helps a bunch too. Philip's English has improved ten-fold since our three weeks in Michigan. He is the envy of his buddies at skole, because English has become a breeze for him!

The next day we woke up and again the crew was at the door. There was some excitement when Bailey found a frog and they spent the day creating a frog habitat in the new wheelbarrow. We learned the danish word for island, and stone, and frog within a few minutes and they took turns guarding the frog while they added to his home.

We've been warned about cool and wet weather, but the first two weeks have had us wishing that we had air conditioning!

It has been nice to see the sun - Sophie kept saying.."Mom, this seems just like Michigan, but more hot! "
