three days in October-tre dage i Oktober

While the kids were enjoying themselves in Æbletoft with their dad, Finn and I took some down time too.  We loaned Karin Leo's family escape and went up north ourselves.  It was great!

We went to a few little towns and just out on the beach for awhile.  Sometimes with so many people requiring our attention, it is difficult to find time for ourselves.  Funny enough, we ended up talking about the kids most of the time, until we made a rule that we needed to branch out a little!

Some of these pictures remind me how important it is to see the beauty that really is all around us here. That, and how important it is to make the investment in our marriage to be there for one another.

Mads

While the American kids celebrated time with their dad, the Danish half of the family (and me) had a special event to attend.  Mads, son to Marlene and Mark and brother to Freja was baptised.
It was a great service, the minister had just arrived back from a trip to the US and had funny stories to share with the congregation.  Stories about cultural differences, but in the end how alike we all are when it comes to the basics things like loving our children and families.

As a little side note: Mads is our great nephew.  His grandma is Finn's sister Karin.  But a more fantastic fact about Mads is that he was born on the very same day that Felix was born! :) Our family grew by two in the span of 24 hours!

:)  Vores familie bliver stører med to imens 24 timer!
