Looks harmless enough doesn't it?
So much for the basic tools I thought we would be using! :)
In honor of "Springing Forward" with the time change, I just had to jump ahead with this post with the promise that I will go back to chronological order after this entry! :) I just had to share this...NOW!!!
With the onset of spring, multiple days of sunshine, and consecutive days off for Finn, the White/Hassing family decided to take on some small run of the mill spring cleaning tasks. You know the usual, raking, mowing, pruning, powerwashing and painting. We have used the standard tools for the jobs too - brooms, rakes, wheelbarrows...elbow grease and the most enormous monstrosity of a machine that looks like something that would be used in a lunar landing! Get a load of these pictures!!!
The kids have been all systems go, helping out at every turn. It is actually something they have enjoyed doing! After all it isn't every day that you get to use a powerwasher, or paint brushes without a second thought to messing up your clothes! It was great to seem them take pride in a job well done! I am sure that when the dust clears and our sore muscles ache a little less, Finn and I will feel the same way! (the irony is that we just started painting the house this morning!) :)
Oh, and another minor detail...
We have long created our own internal list of things that could happen "only in Denmark", and today we have a new addition. The really cool looking hydraulic lift photographed here was reserved with a simple phone call. No deposit, no home phone number or address, NO KIDDING! It is so different when it comes to transactions like this here. There is the Danish assumption that you will simply return it in the same or better condition when you say you will.
